Tr(AI)ner - AI in the life of Youth Worker
The Tr(AI)ner training course brought together youth workers from six European countries for a unique and forward-thinking learning experience. In the peaceful mountain village of Poronin, participants stepped away from their daily routines to explore how artificial intelligence can support their work with young people.
Over the course of several days, they engaged in hands-on activities, intercultural exchange, and collaborative challenges designed to show how technology—when used consciously—can enhance connection, inclusion, and creativity. The experience combined digital learning with offline bonding, creating a powerful space for growth, reflection, and new ideas.
One of the main goals of the project was to help youth workers better understand how to integrate AI tools into their everyday practice. Through a series of interactive workshops, they explored how to communicate effectively with AI systems, create meaningful content, and use digital support to better organize their time and tasks.
Rather than focusing only on tools, the training emphasized the skills behind them—such as asking the right questions, evaluating the accuracy of information, and using AI to amplify their own voice, not replace it. Participants left with greater confidence, knowing how to harness the potential of AI while staying critical and mindful of its limitations.

Beyond learning about technology, Tr(AI)ner offered space for deep personal reflection, shared storytelling, and intercultural connection. Participants were invited to think critically about the ethical and emotional aspects of AI in education: How do we remain authentic in a digital world? How can we use innovation without losing empathy?
Outdoor group tasks, creative expression, and daily reflections allowed participants to experience a balance between nature, technology, and human connection. By the end of the project, they not only gained valuable knowledge—but also a renewed sense of purpose, stronger international friendships, and tools they can take back to inspire others in their communities.
